This app provides a Virtual Reality (VR) experience to users who are interested in learning about the mitochondrial functions. With a simple cardboard goggle, users can visualize the four complexes of the Electron Transport Chain (ETC) and the ATP synthase on the inner mitochondrial membrane. The pathway of the electron flow and the interactions of biomolecules (e.g. substrates, NAHD, Q, cytochrome c, etc.) will also be shown in the immersive VR environment. For the ATP synthase, its rotary motion is presented as an animated structure which transports proton ions and produce ATP molecules. The view of the mitochondrial membrane can be adjusted manually by clicking the control buttons.
